Samosas served with chutney

Meet the team.

The chefs and events managers behind every Passage to India event, many with us for more than fifteen years.

Who is behind Passage to India?

A family business and a long-serving team working from one kitchen in Hounslow. Chef Ranjeet Johar, twice CIEH National Curry Chef of the Year, approves every dish, alongside Executive Chef Harditya Kaushal and Head Tandoori Chef William Bux. Events managers including Naveed Ahmed, with us for 17 years, plan each event with you and run it on the day.

In the kitchen.

Every dish is cooked fresh in our Hounslow kitchen by our own chefs.

Ranjeet Johar

Head Chef

Ranjeet has been a professional chef for over thirty years, across two continents. Trained in India's capital, in the heat of Delhi's finest five-star hotels, he has won national recognition in the UK as the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health's National UK Curry Chef of the Year.

His special skill is turning authentic ingredients into mouth-watering cuisine. Food for our events is freshly prepared by our own chefs, but nothing leaves the kitchen without Chef Ranjeet's approval. That is how the quality of our food has held over the years.

Harditya Kaushal

Executive Chef

Harditya is enthusiastic and passionate about his culinary creations, and always happy to create new dishes and experiment with new flavours.

He joined Passage to India in 2003 and has 27 years of hotel and catering experience in countries including Thailand, Canada and India. His expertise in dishes from India, Thailand, China, Mexico and Italy is second to none, and the dishes he has created bring clients back for repeat events.

Today everything is about innovative presentation, exciting flavours and originality. Our clientele are becoming more cosmopolitan and so are their tastes and expectations. When I'm not kitchen bound, I spend a great deal of time with Ranjeet composing new dishes inspired by current trends and both our travels abroad.

William Bux

Head Tandoori Chef

William has worked with Passage to India for over 15 years. His attention to detail and experimental attitude to cooking let us produce fusion food with a real difference.

He has worked for many top hotels in India and was Chef de Partie at the five-star Maurya Sheraton in Delhi, and has broadened his culinary knowledge working in Bahrain, Cyprus and the UAE.

Running your event.

From the first meeting to the last guest, one team plans and runs the day.

Bhavneet Johar

Bhavneet has played a key role in the development of Passage to India, bringing his vision, creative skills and culinary knowledge to make it one of the leading Asian wedding caterers today.

From a very young age he helped his father at events and knew this was the career he wanted. He went on to study hotel, restaurant and catering management at university.

He is passionate about every detail, from the first meeting with a client to the event itself, and wants every event to be seamless, as passionate about a wedding for 1,000 guests as a dinner party for 8.

I am proud to have a very talented and enthusiastic team who understand my high expectations and continuously deliver flawless and excellent events. I insist on perfection and excellence in every area of the business, from the freshest produce to outstanding service and stunning presentation.

Amrit Waraich

Events Manager

Amrit has been with the company for more than 15 years and worked his way up to management. He started as an events waiter and within a few years joined the Passage to India management programme to develop his management and planning skills.

His dedication to planning events has made him an asset to the team. He enjoys a good challenge, and no event is too difficult.

Conrad D'gama

Events Manager

Conrad joined Passage to India in October 2013, after starting his career with a number of five-star hotels in India and the UK. He has wide experience organising corporate and wedding events.

Energetic and creative, he enjoys putting an event together, whether there are years of notice or only a short time. He is witty and positive, and enjoys talking to clients, listening to what they need and making their event a memorable one.

Swati Verma

Sales Executive

Swati's social skills and friendly manner make her a real asset to the team and to current and prospective clients.

She has wide experience in hospitality, having worked for one of India's leading wedding planning and event management companies, and her passion for the work means very satisfied clients.

Aman Johar

Accounts Director

Aman looks after all financial matters. He started in the events industry young, as a weekend job, then took a master's in maths that led him into investment banking and on to his role as our accounts director.

He has a great personality, a calm and approachable nature, and is always happy to help.
